*The one-day lithography course in Porto 1560 will offer a practical introduction to the traditional surface printing technique used by Alphonse Mucha and Henri Toulouse-Lautrec.* Lithography, also known as stone printing, was widely used, especially in the 19th and first half of the 20th century, to print posters, illustrations and art prints. In this five-hour Saturday course, participants will learn the basic principles of this technique, from the preparation of the lithographic stone to the actual drawing to printing with a counterpress, a rare historic machine. The course is led by artist Lenka Kahuda Klokočková, one of the few experts in this technique, whose own method enables participants to master the entire process in a single day.
