The Five-Petalled Rose Festival is a historical festival set in medieval times, when the noble family of Rožmberk ruled here. You'll have a great time participating in activities with a gothic or renaissance theme.

Watch a knight tournament

As a tourist, take in the city's streets, parks, and gardens for great cuisine, culture, and leisure activities. The highlight of the event is a medieval parade filled with exciting fireshows, comedy gigs, dances and themed music. You'll observe approximately 700 participants dressed as historical figures from the Czech history.

Local people craft historical costumes and keep the tradition going for many years. Each group has its own theme or character which they portray during parades and other festivities during the weekend. Day and night medieval-themed events include concerts, art exhibitions, and theatrical performances. Your children will have a chance to play themed games or watch knight tournaments.
